Most of the pre-schools in Sri Lanka
are being run without even minimum
facilities required for educational
methodologies adopted in early
childhood development.
The majority of pre-school wardens
are lacking in skills pertaining to
the teaching-learning process and
schools are ill-equipped to handle
early childhood activities in the
absence of much needed capital
items.
Though the pre-school is the
foundation on which the future of
any child is built, their future looks
bleak as pre-schools lack basic
facilities required for perfect
education.
The same fate has befallen in
religious education on
Buddhism, Hinduism, Christian/
Catholic and Islam Sunday Schools
and has served as a deterrent for
spiritual and moral development.
As such there is a pressing need to;
